In September of 2008 I started offering an Program on the Art of Pet Styling. This is a three month training program in which I will take on a new student every three month. 360 Hours / 12 Weeks/ Tuesday - Friday 10am - 3pm and Saturday 7:30am - 1pm
This is a Comprehensive Program for the person that want to become a Pet Stylist.
This program was developed for people that wants to learn about everyday cuts for their
Companions. Very little of this program is gear toward show cuts. Upon Graduation, you will be
able to style approximately 3 to 6 companions a day. You will have the knowledge to open your
own business or go to work for someone else. If you are looking for a School that is gear toward

Summary of the Program
- Dedicated Pet Stylist as instructor that gives one on one instructions
- Focus on Pet owners custom hair cuts
- AKC Breeds, haircuts and standard reviewed
- Proper Bathing, drying of each breed
- Shop and equipment maintenance
- Hand scissoring and snap on comb Techniques
- Speed grooming techniques using vacuum systems
- Proper toenail clipping, ear cleaning, anal gland expression, mat removal, etc
- You will groom 50 to 100 companions in class depending on your ability and availability
- Receive a certificate of completion
- Receive an application for the National Dog Groomer's Association of America
- Receive application and books to get your Licence to do pesticide in North Carolina

Summary of Studies and Tests
Week 1 and 2 Anatomy and the basics - Test at end of second week (open book test)
Week 3 Sporting , Hounds and Working groups - Test at the end of fourth week (open book test)
Week 4 Terrier Group - Test at the end of fifth week (open book test)
Week 5 Toy Group - Test at the end of sixth week (open book test)
Week 6 Non Sporting, Herding - Test at the end of seventh week (open book test)
Week 7 Poobles Styles and Drop Coat Styles - Test a the end of eight week (open book test)
Week 8 - 10 Business Basic and how to start a business ( no test )
Week 10 General Knowledge exam (closed book test)
Week 11 One page term paper on what you have learned during the past 10 weeks
Week 12 Turn in your model dog for grading
